Time Tables

 

This week for Maths we got to pick a warm up game using Table Master. I started off with the 2's because I wanted to remember my 2 time tables. I got on the higher score board for 1st place and down. This game has really helped me with my time tables and my speed of knowing them. I am also going to practice my 8's and 7's.

Place Value Strategy

Today for Maths I worked with Fui. We are learning about Place Value. Me and Fui made a DLO with a question, Solving problem and the video. With you want to watch the video just click on the video and watch it. Me and Fui also made a slide to put our work on.

How is Chinese New Year?

Today for Writing I worked with Joel. We were learning about Chinese New Year. Joel and I made a document about facts that was about Chinese New Year. We have to have TITC. T is for tittle,I is for introduction,T is for information and C is for conclusion. but we also had to have Simple,Compound and Complex. The last thing we had to have was present tense. Me and Joel l learnt a lot about Chinese New Year. A few years ago 12 animals had a race. First place Rat, second place Ox, third place Tiger, fourth place Rabbit, filth place Dragon, sixth place Snake, seventh place Horse, eighth place Goat, Ninth place Monkey, tenth place Rooster, eleventh place Dog and last place Pig. This year for 2018 the animal was the Dog. Next year would be the Pig. Every year there would be a animal celebrated.

Softball

Today for Softball this was our first time doing Softball for term 1 for 2018. Before we started we had to run to the tree and back. We had to get into peers. I was working with Nyjah. The first thing we did . We did it about 3 minutes. Alician showed us some skills that could be used in Softball. Then we had to try and not drop the ball on the ground. We kept on moving backwards until there would not be any winners. The next thing we did was to roll the ball on the ground. It was very hard because it was on grass.

Kiwi Can Reflection

Today for Kiwi Can we are leaning about positive relations ships . When we all walked inside room 7 we all had to get into groups of 4. I was in group 3. We started off with a game. This game was called Ball Tag. Mr Matt put us into groups of 3. 2 groups was with boys but one group was with a boy and all of the girls. We had a time. First place was Josh's time second place was Alex's team and last place which was my team. 36 seconds, 59 seconds and 4 minutes. This was very hard because there were only 3 people that was the taggers and the other team was running. I started to get use to it and it started to get easier. We played another game. We had to form a circle. Mr Matt numbered us 1-4. I was number 2. We had a practice round. It was hard. It started to hard because everyone was running so fast to go to the hula hoops. We finished the game. We started to move onto JKQ.

5 Main Points

Today for Reading I am learning about 5 main points. I worked with Angela. We had to write 5 main points on notes. Everyone in my group had to go into a peer. We had to write notes about the article  that we were reading. After we wrote our main ideas on the notes we all chose the notes. When we finished we had to write all of our 5 main points on the 5 main points document.

SLJ

Today for the SLJ I got a certificate. The winners were Mele,Alex,Marieta, Ofa ,Angela and Fau. Over 50 people got a certificate on stage. After assembly we took another photo outside. The other winners took another photo after us. I would like to thank Rachel and the foundation for getting the prizes for the winners and certificates for the ones that participate in the SLJ. I hope you guys have so fun again doing it again this year and the other terms. 

Pewter Workbook

Today for Tech I did Pewter. This was my first time at  Tech same as everyone that is a year 7. This is at Tamaki Collage. My teacher was Mr Grundy. He is my teacher for Tech. Today we made a copy of Pewter Workbook. We all had to have 4 people on recipient that could be about friends and family. I did my mum,dad,sister and Nyjah. Also we had to find images that didn't had skinny legs or something that had a whole in that material.

Morning Routine

                                         Today for Writing we did our morning routine. We had to write 3 paragraphs that is about what you do in your morning routines. Also you have to write a introduction that would link to your conclusion. I worked by myself. We had to show Mrs Kiri Patrick to check our work before we put it on your blog.

Place Value

Today for Maths I learned about place value. We had to make our own strategy, questions to solve it and the video that is an example of the strategy. Fui and I made a video which me and fui had to make another google drawing that was the example for the video. Me and Fui put the strategy google drawing link on the slide but we only made people video it only.

Kiwi Can Reflection

Today for Kiwi can we started of the year with what we did last year. We did respect, resilience and responsibility. We started to move into our game. The game we played was called ball pass. In the game we had to form a circle. We had to have one person in the middle of the circle. That person in the middle had to say something that was like about there shoes,socks and hair. Whoever that had that had to find a different spot. The last one that moves has to go in the middle. After we finished playing we had to go into groups of 3. My group was me,Joshua V,Marieta,Dallas,Lyric,Carl and Brooklyn. Everyone had to make a act which there would be someone that solves the problem ,and there would be someone or people would be the nice kids and the other ones that are mean which. My group failed. We didn't really do our act probably we were just laughing and making jokes. The last game and last thing we did was played a game. The game was called ball tag. We had stay in the group we were with for the play.  My group went on and we last. All of our players were out.

Where is Pyeongchang?

Today for Inquiry I made a DLO with Joel that was about Pyeongchang and the Winter Olympics. I have learnt that Passion. Connected. is the slogan for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The countries that are near South Korea are: China, Thailand and Japan, and I know that Seoul is the capital of South Korea. We also learnt the distance from New Zealand (Auckland) and South Korea. My favourite fact that we found did was that Korean people eat a lot of kimchi each year. Did you know that kimchi is made from fermented cabbage? I don't know if I would like to eat that.

Making Connections

L.I Make connections text to text, text to world and text to self.

Today for Reading I did Making Connections. I have learnt something about the Winter Olympics and about snow and hail. We wrote about the Winter Olympics. We had to find a site that was about (shirtless Tongan flag bearer). Then we had to put the link on (text to text). The next thing we did was text to world. We had to write what do we know about it. So we all wrote Winter Olympics because that was the only thing we all knew. The last thing we did was text to self. We had to write our reaction to the story.

Blog Post Analysis

Yesterday I made a graph that showed how much work I have done since 2015-2018. I have learnt how to finish my goal by the end of this year. We had to make it on a spreed sheet and write the blog posts and the years to make the graph. The next step we had to do was make a DLO and put our graph on the DLO. The next step we had to write the learning intention. The second to last step we had to do was to write a reason why it is like that and say if you wanted to which one is higher than the others. We had to finish it off today because we never had that much time to finish it.

Today for writing we had to write something about our holiday... but that gives clues in the writing. I have learnt how to do it a little bit faster because I was scared in the start but then people said go show but then I did so that is how I learnt something new. My one was about the play center that was on my sisters babies birthday which she turned 1...
