  1. Hi Chavda,

It's wonderful to see you online this holiday. I love the DLO that you created for Canada Day. It is a very special day for everyone who lives in the country as we celebrate the birthday of the nation on 1 July.

Every year on the 1st of July we get together with friends and family. We often have a special meal (usually a barbecue because it is the beginning of the summer for us) and we eat foods like hot dogs and hamburgers. If we can, we also light fireworks. The pictures that you have included in your DLO appear to be taken in Ottawa (our capital city) at the national 'Canada Day' event. We always have a fireworks show over the parliament buildings. Parliament is where our prime minister (Justin Trudeau) works. It is just like the Beehive in New Zealand where our prime minister (formerly John Key and now Bill English) works.

I hope that you will continue to post great blogs this summer. I can't wait to see what you will write about next :)

    Keep up the great work,

    Rachel

  2. Hi Chavda
Great work on this DLO. I chose Canada as my country and I found out that they are a very interesting country, with their own celebrations. Keep up the awesome work!

  3. Happy Canada Day Chavda!

I'm glad too that you chose Canada, it looks like so much fun! Do you know what the food is in the picture you've given? Whatever it is, it sure looks tasty.

Whenever you visit another country, if they have celebrations like these it is a wonderful opportunity to learn about their country and their culture if you have the chance to go along! In 2015 when I was in Rarotonga they were having a massive celebration for 50 years of Independence. I got to learn all about their country, and saw lots of visitors from the outer islands too. They had a huge parade, with lots of food and all the people in the parade had beautiful costumes and floats to show where they were from.

Keep up the great blogging Chavda :-)

    Dan.
