The person that has made a positive impact in my life will be my Brother. He inspired me to play sports since I was 5 years old. I have always watched him do boxing and it has been successful. He courage me to keep on going even if I gave up in a sport. When I was one of the newest people in my swimming club that knew nothing about swimming he always courage me to keep on going. Last year, he won the sport dux's award 2019. He is New Zealand's youth heavy weight boxing champion for the last 2 or 3 years.

This week during Day 3, activity 2 we have been interviewing our friends of what they have accomplish. I have interview Fui,Victoria and Florence. Fui has accomplish sports leader for 2019/ placing first in high jump ( inter school athletics). Florence has accomplish getting all of her Sliver Care Awards badges this year. And Victoria has achieved her first Sliver Care Award badge. I found this activity a bit fun to do since it was really easy to ask them. 

SLJ: ENVIRONMENT & EXPLORATION | Teaser Week

This week we have created a DLO about the SLJ: Environment & Exploration activity. For day 3, is about The Water Project. As a group we have answer these questions: What is the goal? What have they achieved and Where do they work? Every day has 3 activities. I found this activity a bit tricky to do. A fact that I learnt, is that The water project provides clean water for kids in Indian, Africa and Sub-Saharan.

Day 2 Activity 2: Equal Pay for Equal Work? | Summer Learning Journey

What do you think about this? Is it fair? Should female athletes, like the Black Ferns, be paid the same amount as male athletes who play the same sport?

It's not fair to do the Black Ferns because they get paid less, than the "All Blacks". To make it fair, they should get paid a equal amount of money since they both are hard working teams. I think, it's because of the genders, since more people think that woman should play that sport and men should do that. I think that woman has the rights to play rugby and are good at playing RUGBY. TO be fair to both teams they should get paid the same amount of the money, not one team getting paid less or higher. 

Day 2 Activty 1: Faster than a speeding bullet

This week LS2 has been working on the Summer learning journey activities. For Day 2 its about faster than a speeding bullet. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is knowing as the fastest woman right now. She won 4 years in a row at the 100 meter sprints. For this activity we were listing smiles like/as about Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce. I said that she is fast as a tear drop, is tall as a giraffe, is as small as an ant, is beautiful like a pink tree. 

Activity 1 New Zealand Royalty | Summer Learning Journey {TEASER}

This week LS2/LS1/R5 is focusing on the Summer Learning Journey teaser activity. Our first activity was called New Zealand Royalty. This challenge is based on Lorde. A fact that I found really interesting about her is that she, is the first New Zealander singer to go on the U.S billboard 100 in 2013. This morning Elaaro and I were researching facts about Lorde that we . Did you know that her full name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor ?? Right now she is still making music that inspires people till this day. 

Blog Post Analysis Reflection

Since May

The beginning of the year. 

This year, everyone in LS2 had a goal to achieve before the end of this year. My goal was to get too 1,100 blog post. Sadly, I haven't achieve my goal. I think its because I've been leaving it as a DRAFT and not posting it. The highest amount of blog post this year was January ( during the summer learning journey). The lowest amount of blog posts this year was this month (2 blog posts). The first year I started blogging was on 2015. I have been blogging for 4 years. 

Tesselations

This week during Maths, we have been working on Tesselations. We were given 3 or more different shapes to make as a pattern. I decided to go with the T shape. I made 3 or 2 patterns. I decided to go with a mix of dark and bright colors. During Maths, we have been working on rotation, translation, enlargement and so on. 

Market Day Evaluation

Our idea was viable because it sold out really fast and the colors were attractive to students/parents. What would you change? If we had ice blocks I will change that and having more items per class because the slime sold out fast. The amount of money our class earned was $96.00. For each item at the end we sold 2 for 1 token. Our bags for the rainbow crayons cost $8.00. Altogether our net profit was $88.00. We had 88 items altogether at our school gala day.

Instagram advertising

This week LS2 have created on Instagram of advertising our rainbow crayons. Today is our school gala day that starts at 2:00pm - 3:00pm. Each class in our school is selling a item between 1 - 3 dollars. And this is not a real instagram post. If you were wondering how we made this look so real, we used a template but changed it too make it look real. 

Athletics day 2019

This week was our Interschool Athletics Day. Lots of students from different schools took part. It was a really fun day on Wednesday and competitive day at the same time. We had some good results from each person, that was doing Athletics. If some people were confuse about what time to go to there event we had 2 posts on each side, with the times. I took part in the 100 meter sprints and came 2nd in heats and 1st in finals. I was really nervous on the day, because I was going against fast people that won alot of sprint events this year and last year. In the morning block the boys had there sprints events and, the girls were doing the field events. In the afternoon we switched ( boys to field events and girls to sprints).

Show dont tell

Small pieces of rocks, grass and stones stuck in me isn’t such a pleasant feeling. The pain being inflicted on my body hurts badly. Stepping on poop smells DISGUSTING and UNCOMFORTABLE!!! At this point I couldn’t bare to breathe with the unbearable scents surrounding me. Falling into a nasty, smelly, puddle made me soaked and smelly!! I’m starting to think that my only source of food is the stale bubblegum stuck to the floor with each step my owner took on them. Gross…  Does my owner even have eyes? Each step my owner took was on one of the most disgusting parts on the ground (puddles, poop, bubble gum and rocks). I’m yearning for the day when I get brought back to the shoe store...

This week during Writing Nyjah and I have been on show no tell. Our story was based on shoes that were about the 5 senses. As a peer we were pretending to be a peer of shoes that had those 5 senses. During this challenge, LS2 were given a challenge to sit back to back with our partner. In our peers we wrote 7 sentences or more. I found it really easy to do this because Nyjah and I had similar ideas for this topic. 

Reading Presentation | The Great Plague

This week I have been working with Joel on The Great plague. Today each peer or group presented there presentation in front of the class with a DLO, slideshow or a Kahoot. What I found interesting about my topic is, once a person passes away a red cross is drawn on there door ( if someone or people have passed). In our slideshow we did a timeline, summary, video ( as an example) and drawings of what it looked like back in the day. I felt really nervous presenting in front of the class while talking, but I tried my best to get over that fear. What I enjoy the most in this presentation was creating the drawing ( slide 5 ).

Transformation

This week during Maths we have been learning Transformation. As a class we were able too choose a 3 shapes in google drawing to put together. I decided to choose a circle, square and rounded rectangle. With the 3 shapes we chose we did Symmetry, enlargement, rotation, reflection and translation. For translation I made it into a gif that made my shape move to a different spot. 

Foodprint

This week in the afternoon Michal the owner of Food print business has been active for 6 months. She came in to talk to LS1 and LS2 about enterprise, for our Inquiry topic. Did you know, that 20 million bread is wasted every year in New Zealand (more than NZ's population)? Before she created food print she planned on the logo/ name. For her name, it took her for months to figure out a name that was short and bold. For the logo/colors and the designs her team created 4 choices for her.

Financial Literacy Market Day

This week during Maths we have been working on Financial Literacy for our school market day. We were given a chance of picking our peers to work with, and I chose Fui. As a peer we helped each other out with the things we were stuck with. The game we played was called Market Game. To know the rules we were given Instructions to read carefully, here is a reminder: to always check your inventory and the price list. We were given two dices to use for this game. One of the dices were blank White. In vivid we wrote J for Juggling balls. B for bungy sacks and H for hacky sacks.

Woodwork | Tech 2019

This week during Tech we have been working on our Woodwork designs. For my design I decided to go with a piano. I am still working on getting the correct measurement for my design. What I find hard to doing at wood work is getting the correct measurements because if we don't do the correct measurements our wood work design is going to fail.

This week during Reading we have being working on Current Events. Each person in LS2 were able to choose a topic from kiwi kids news, NZ Herald or Kea Kids News. The topic I choose is called World's first plant selfie. Pete is a fern that takes photos of itself every 20 seconds. I found this topic interesting to read because it is really cool how Pete can take selfies of its own (itself). During this task we wrote a summary. To begin with we wrote down 20 important words, 6 most important words and 5 important sentences. At the end we changed our 5 important sentences into 10 syllables.
