Tech | Last day of Robotics

This week during, we have being editing our movies. Today was our last day of our robotics lesson. During this last tech lesson we have been creating a robotics movie/ video that was about something that we have learnt about over the last 15 or 14 weeks of Tech. Today was our last day of editing or filming. In my group I had Marieta, Angela and Fui. In the movie I created the animation and a bit of Angela. I hope you enjoy this movie/video that we have created as a group.

I'll like to say a big thanks to Mr Dunn and Mrs Munoz because without you guys we wont have any robotics at Tech. It's cool knowing that we are the first year group out of all of the schools and year groups that goes to Tamaki College. I cant wait to go to my new tech rotation. Today was also the last day of the year 8's being split apart into 2 groups.

This week during robotics, this was our last day of editing or creating our robotics movie. In my group we had Fui, I and Angela. To make this robotics movie we had to film clips of the M-bot moving and we also had to do a project that we have learnt from doing robotics. My group is doing an animation for our project. My group just needs to edit our movie then we are done with our movie.

This week during Tech we have being working on a video that we are going to be showing to the class in a couple of weeks. In my group I have Angela and Fui. I am working on the animation, Angela is going to be editing the video and Fui is going to be doing the same as Angela. Next week we are planning to start filming our video since we have planned it out this week and filmed a bit of it. 

Tech blog post | Week 10

During this weeks session we were coding our M-bots to go around these shapes. This was the last session of the term. After the holidays we going to make our own project. I found it a bit hard to do this task because my M-bot kept on going around in circles on the spot and it wasn't moving forward, turning left and turn right. This weeks words was called functions. To be able to do this we had to us the work book or the projects that we have made in the past. I found using the work book a bit easier for me because it gave me some ideas for my coding. 

Tech Reflection | Term 2 Week 8

This weeks Tech session challenge was to make our M-bot make a square or to try and make our M-bot to go around an item that was on the table. The word that we were learning about was sense. I found the 1st activity hard to do, so I decided to do the 2nd challenge because I found it a bit easier to do. Once I was done do my coding of my square it didn't really look like a  square because it looked like a Hexagon. Next week we are probably going to do some sum wrestling, which I am going to be kind of happy if I do it.

Tech | Ctrl 2019 Term 2

This week at Tech we are learning coding. Today we were coding our M- Bots (which is a device that can talk, move and do more things). I found coding a bit challenging because I was wasn't able to hearing any sound coming from the M- Bot. The word that we use today was variable. The meaning of variable is change, sound, beat, tone and more. Next week we are going to be doing a different coding to a Drone.

Tech

This week during tech we all have finished our designs. I have created a Game of thrones clock. We have being working on our designing for a few weeks. Today was the last day of designing our clock. I really enjoyed painting my clock and designing it. I'll like to give a big thank you to Ms Ferguson for helping us create our clock that took for a while. 

Tamaki College Reflection

This week at Tamaki College the years 8's including myself spent most of the day at Tamaki college for a organisation. We went to the library to have our morning tea. During our morning tea we met our student helpers that helped us out when we were stuck they. After our morning tea we went to two classes doing Science and Maths. Our first class that we went to was Maths. We learnt how to do Co-ordinates. We were trying to make an alien shape. Unfortunately I didn't get to finish it. The last class that we went to was Science. We did some experiments that felt really cool. For our safely we used gloves and glasses for our experiments that we were doing. My favorite experiment doing was the rocket one because it was so fun seeing it go high in the sky. We did so many experiments at Science. At the end we went into the Tamaki College school van to get back to school. Thank you to the Tamaki teachers for teaching us new skills in Science and Maths. I am also excited to go to college now because it is going to be more challenging for me and I'll have more subjects in college then Intimidate.

Tech Reflection

This week at Tech we continued doing our painting for our clock. We have two more weeks left of our rotation. I am almost finished with my Game Of Thrones clock. The colours that I am using for my clock are Black and White and a bit of Grey. Today I have finished with my back clock my background of my black and a bit of my drawings. This clock is going to be given to my Mum for her late mothers day gift. 

DVC/ Tech

This week at Tamaki College we were designing our clocks on a piece of paper. Our Graphics teacher for term 1 is Mrs Ferguson. I have decided to make my Mum a Game of Thrones clock because she loves watching Game of Thrones. I chose my Mum because she needs to wake up early around 4 or 5 to go to work. In the clock it has some really cool designs in the clock. It was a bit hard to do drawing in it, but as I zoomed up to it got a bit easier for me to draw on the piece of paper.

Tech/ Graphics

Last week at Tech we  were doing our 2 DLO's that are connected with our clocks. First DLO is about what we are the 2 designs that we are going to use. We would need to pick one of those designs to make a Clock. I have decided to make my clock for my Mum because she also needs to wake up for work and she wouldn’t need to use her phone anymore. If you would want to design a clock what design would you choose?

Tech

Today at Tech we were created different shades and mixing in colours. As you can see at the top of sheet there are 3 boxes, the colour of those 3 colours are Primary colours. The 2 boxes below the primary colours those are called secondary colours because they are the second colour of the color wheel. At the bottom we mixed in Yellow and Blue to get the colour Green. I also did some Graduated Colours and Tint / Tone.  What is  your guys favorite colour? My favorite colour is Gold and Yellow and I dislike the colour Purple.

On Friday we were shading, colouring and using fluff to make a nice smooth colour in our apple. As you can see I drew the apple that is on the blog post. It was really fun to do. In the afternoon I am going to be doing the same thing and Neaveah and I am going to be helping my group to colour it in. We did different things to colour in the apple. We also transfer a apple onto this other piece of paper. 

Tech/ Colour Theory

This week at Graphics we were colouring logos from google and tracing it on our screen. Before we did that we did tracing we were working on a DLO that had 2 squares but one inside the square. We chose 3 colours for each square and the background as a different color. The back round colour had to be primary colours. My favorite drawing was the second drawing because I added a lot of detail and colours were a Complementary, (Opposite colours). The colours and detail. The colours I used was Dark Green, Light Green, Blue, Dark Blue and Orange. This is our last session of Graphics and Tech for this term. Thank you Mrs Ferguson for being a creative and funny teacher and teaching us a lot about shapes and different designs.

Tech

Today at Tech we were doing some shading and other types in this box that we drew. We mixed up the colours to make it just not one because it would look flat so we decided to do two colours. The last thing we made was a wood design which was pretty cool... The colours we used were Brown,Orange and Yellow which are like a tree color. 

Tech

Today I have created a diamond shape and I put the 3 colors together that was drawn as a diamond, and when I glued it together it made a cube shape. I really loved this session because my cube shape turned out really good and it easy in the start but sometimes I would get stress. I still need to cut it out next week hopefully if we still need to do it.

Today at Tech we started a drawing. I drew a flower, with 7 circles. We used a compass and a pencil. I haven't finished my drawing yet because I was trying to blend my colours. I got some help by Nyjah with my circles. The drawing I have put up is an example of what we are doing in Tech.

Ray Gun/ Created by Tinkcad/ Myself

Today at Tech I have being working on a Ray- Gun design created on a website called Tinkercad. I have being adding some more detail and also being working on the board with a Gun called the Ray- Gun from Call of Duty 2 in Zombies. The board is for the 3D Design and for the Phone Stand to be made on. First we drew it on a piece of paper and copied the drawing from the paper to Tinkercad. I have decided to make the color Yellow and the board Blue because those are top favorite colours and it kind of suits the gun and the board.  I found this on a website called Thingiverse, it has different kinds of drawings made on different websites. At the end on this blurb it has 2 links that can help you draw and give you a couple of ideas.

Tech

Today at Tech we have drawn and started finding us some photos from Thingiverse and drawings that we have done. I have decided to a ray gun from Black ops 2, Zombies. That gun is very good to use because when you get killed and are waiting to get revive you get to use your pistol or your ray gun when your alive and when you need revive. I also love the hammer gun because it has a lot of bullets and has great aim. This design was made our Tinkercad. I tried copying it off my piece of paper. I didn't get to finished but this looks alright.

3D Design/ Tech

Today at Tech we made a 3D person or character. I have decided to do the Zombie from Minecraft because I love playing Minecraft and the reason why I chose to the Zombie is, because most people weren't going to do it. I was trying to copy a Minecraft Zombie. I have learnt, how to use the tools and to rotate and using my mouse to look around my character. We also got to have lessons to help us practice using the tools.

Tech

Today we had Tech. We got to draw different types of shapes that was put on the board. We also had to put our name, link to our blog and link to our DLO about ourselves. I really like how we got to shade in our shapes or our 3D shape. We also made a copy of Phone Stands. We had to find photos that was plastic, wood, metal etc.
