This week during Maths, we have been working on Tesselations. We were given 3 or more different shapes to make as a pattern. I decided to go with the T shape. I made 3 or 2 patterns. I decided to go with a mix of dark and bright colors. During Maths, we have been working on rotation, translation, enlargement and so on.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Transformation
This week during Maths we have been learning Transformation. As a class we were able too choose a 3 shapes in google drawing to put together. I decided to choose a circle, square and rounded rectangle. With the 3 shapes we chose we did Symmetry, enlargement, rotation, reflection and translation. For translation I made it into a gif that made my shape move to a different spot.

Financial Literacy Market Day
This week during Maths we have been working on Financial Literacy for our school market day. We were given a chance of picking our peers to work with, and I chose Fui. As a peer we helped each other out with the things we were stuck with. The game we played was called Market Game. To know the rules we were given Instructions to read carefully, here is a reminder: to always check your inventory and the price list. We were given two dices to use for this game. One of the dices were blank White. In vivid we wrote J for Juggling balls. B for bungy sacks and H for hacky sacks.

Inference DLO | Term 2 Week 8
LI: To understand how to use inference in Maths.
This weeks Maths session I have being working together with Holy to create this. Before we started to make our DLO we were given different word problems in Inference and we were also got a word problem that was in our Maths test. As you can see on my DLO I have my word problem, a drawing, how we figured out the answer and the strategy. I have sketched a image online but changed up the drawing a bit with the colours.

Tamaki College Reflection
This week at Tamaki College the years 8's including myself spent most of the day at Tamaki college for a organisation. We went to the library to have our morning tea. During our morning tea we met our student helpers that helped us out when we were stuck they. After our morning tea we went to two classes doing Science and Maths. Our first class that we went to was Maths. We learnt how to do Co-ordinates. We were trying to make an alien shape. Unfortunately I didn't get to finish it. The last class that we went to was Science. We did some experiments that felt really cool. For our safely we used gloves and glasses for our experiments that we were doing. My favorite experiment doing was the rocket one because it was so fun seeing it go high in the sky. We did so many experiments at Science. At the end we went into the Tamaki College school van to get back to school. Thank you to the Tamaki teachers for teaching us new skills in Science and Maths. I am also excited to go to college now because it is going to be more challenging for me and I'll have more subjects in college then Intimidate.
Tech Reflection
This week at Tech we continued doing our painting for our clock. We have two more weeks left of our rotation. I am almost finished with my Game Of Thrones clock. The colours that I am using for my clock are Black and White and a bit of Grey. Today I have finished with my back clock my background of my black and a bit of my drawings. This clock is going to be given to my Mum for her late mothers day gift.

Place Value Partitioning
This DLO shows how I used the strategy of place value partitioning to solve addition questions. During our maths lesson we practised using this strategy with number and word questions. When I was answering the word question I had to look for the maths so that I knew what numbers to work with. My screencastify shows the strategy I used. The more I used this strategy the easier it got.

Blog Post Analysis
This week and last week my class has being finding our amount of blog posts of 2015 - 2019. My highest blog posting month is January 2019 because I took part in the Summer learning Journey program during the school holidays. My first blog post on my blog was in May 2015. It was my first year as a student at Panmure Bridge School and I was learning how to do digital work. I have improved over the years with my blog posts. My favourite year blogging year was in 2018, because that year we posted a lot of work onto our blog and nearly every week I would post at least post 5 post a week except the holidays.

Solving Problem
Today I have made a DLO that explains a Maths Problem. This was my second Maths Challenge in this week. I got a bit of help from my friend Nyjah and she explained it to me and I understood and now I am explaining it to you guys on a DLO.
Maths Problem/ Explaning
Yesterday I made a DLO solving a Maths Problem. This challenge was kind of hard to work out. This Maths problem was about a school trip. There were 24 students that went on the school trip. 1 tent is only allowed to have 2 students, but it wouldn't be fair for the other 1 person. So the answer would be 2 people per tent to make it easier.

E - Ako
Today I have played a Maths game called E-Ako. I started playing this game last year. I made a new account for E-Ako, because I forgot my username. I took a couple of photos of me answering the questions. This was very easy because I have played this plenty of times. My favorite game playing in E-Ako is Number facts because its fun and I like it because it's quick and it has a timer. If you guys have played this game before what is your favorite game playing in E-Ako? If you would like to play this game here is the link- E-Ako.

Today I have started and finished off the Basic Facts Box Sheets. I have done up to 100 to challenge me and it helps me think very fast inside my brain, to answer the question. It gets pretty easy in the start but once you start completing every box it gets more challenging. It took a few minutes to be able to fill out all the boxes.
