The question asked How many adults and children will it take to move the giant squid into its new room at Te Papa? I think it will be 330+15+25+25+30+29+20+21= 495 kilometers. I think it will be 39 adults 6 kids. I used a paper to help me figure it out. I have earned 10 points.
Hi Chavda,
ReplyDeleteThanks for completing the Week 3 - Day 3 - Activity 3. This Activity was a bit hard because you have to figure out what strategy to use.
Next time you should put your Answers or your Strategy in a DLO so it can make it more easy for other Global audience can see.
I've been enjoying every post you have put in.
Was this an activity that was hard for you?
Keep up the good work

Kia Ora Chavda,
ReplyDeleteWhat an outstanding effort that you've worked for. I tried doing this activity, but I ended up skipping it. Well done for completing this activity, because this one was a bit difficult for me to do. The image looks interesting. You are sharing a lot of work to your global audience at the moment.
Nice Work!
ReplyDeleteKia Ora Chavda,
It’s great that you have worked out how many adults and kids it would take to carry a colossal squid. Would you mind showing me how you worked the answer out? Have you still go the piece of paper that you have worked out the problem? I can show you the way I worked it out. I know that there is four lots of 25 kg in 100 kg. 3 lots of 100 kg is 300 kg and that is 12 adults. Each child can carry 15 kg , four lots of 15 kg is 60 kg. I know that 60 kg + 60 kg + 60 kg = 180 kg, which is 12 kids and 12 adults. In total they can carry 480 kg ( 300 kg + 180 kg) which isn’t the total weight of 495 kg. So if I add one more kid to the group then 480 kg + 15 kg = 495 kg!
Blog ya later!

Hi Chavda,
ReplyDeleteWell done on completing this Summer Learning Journey activity. I think that you have done a great job working out how many people you would need to carry that humongous squid. How hard do you think carrying the squid would be? It would probably be slimy which would make it hard to grip. Keep up the good work.
