What do you think about this rule? Is it fair that people are charged up to $100 000 for overfishing? I think it isn't fair to pay 100,00 dollars that's kind of dumb.

ReplyDeleteWell done for completing another day’s worth of activities. Do you know why people could be fined because of overfishing? The fines system is in place so that people stick to the daily limits and minimum sizes of fish. This allows the fish population to regenerate so we will be able to fish for many more years to come.
It’s great to read that work is being done to clean up both the Selwyn and Waikato rivers. I’m not sure about the Selwyn River but I know with the Waikato River there are still big parts of it that are unsafe. Which website did you find your information on? There are things that can be done to help and clean it up the rivers though. Something that farmers can do is to fence off all of the rivers, that way stock can’t get into the river.
You have come up with some ways to get money to help the Great barrier Reef. But I don’t think all the households in Australia would want to pay money. Can you think of any fundraisers could help raise money for the Great Barrier Reef? I think a bake sale would be a great way. Can you think of three different fundraising ideas? ReplyDeleteWell done on finishing these three activities. I also think that it is kind of dumb if you get fined 100 thousand dollars just because you took a few more fish than you were supposed to. Hopefully the Selwyn and the Waikato rivers will get cleaned one day. Also, your ideas to raise money to help the Great Barrier Reef are great. Keep up the good work.
